Oakdale Poms

With the MVYFL (Mountain Valley Youth Football League) being postponed, our traditional fall season will be replaced with a 6-week clinic.

2020 LOUYAA Oakdale Pom & Dance Clinic

Where: LOUYAA Park and Fields (New Market)
When: Tuesdays and Thursdays - 8/11 to 9/17

What will Oakdale Pom & Dance Clinic offer?
Oakdale Pom & Dance Clinic will offer an opportunity for your child to learn choreography and dance technique, paired with music. The clinic is 6-weeks and will allow your child the ability to learn, have fun, and socialize with others (while social distancing of course!). A clinic day will closely resemble a traditional practice with the goal being preparing for a performance. Instead of performing at games, the girls will perform a showcase every other Thursday (8/20, 9/3, 9/17) for families to come and watch. They participants will dress up and put on a show! We will even “announce” them like a football game would to make it feel like a true performance!

What does my registration cover?
We are supplying each clinic participant with the following items that they get to keep at the end of the clinic:

-Oakdale Pom & Dance Jersey

-Silver and Pink Hair Bows

-Custom Water Bottle

-A pair of previous season poms

The cost of registration will also cover our final clinic showcase on 9/17 which will include awards and much more!

What do I need to supply?
The only items you are required to provide are a pair of plain black shorts (for the showcases) and that your child arrives in tennis shoes daily. They do not need to be cheer shoes.

How are you keeping my child safe?
Your child’s safety is our top priority.  LOUYAA has “Return to Play” guidelines, and Oakdale Poms has added onto that since each sport is unique.  If you would like to review our fall clinic COVID guidelines, please send an email to the commissioner.

Before you register for the wait-list:
Oakdale Poms & Dance is closely following COVID in the State of Maryland.  Gov. Hogan announced on 7/29 that any out-of-state travel to FL, TX, GA, LA, AZ, AL, SC, NE, and ID, that those travelers get tested and self-quarantine while awaiting results. We will be following the governor's guidance so please keep that in mind before registering.  Participants will not be allowed at practice if they have recently traveled to one of those states, or if someone from those states has traveled here to visit them.

*WAIT-LIST STATUS*

We are currently limiting our teams to 14 participants for our younger squads, and 16 participants for our older squads.  Keeping our participants safe is a top priority, and overcrowding teams makes that very difficult.  Most of our squads are currently full, but if a participant drops before the start of the clinic, you will receive an email.
