Welcome to Winter 2025 LOUYAA Cheer & Poms Spirit Tribe!
We’re excited to welcome all our new and returning athletes and their families to the LOUYAA Winter Cheer & Poms program! Whether you're here for cheerleading or poms/dance, we’re thrilled to have you join us for a season full of energy, growth, and fun. Below are some key details and FAQs to help you get started.
Registration Period: September 5 – October 24

Program Overview
Our athletes will perform at various LOUYAA events and community showcases throughout the winter season. This is a meaningful and rewarding experience where participants grades 1st - 8th will build skills in cheer, tumbling, dance, and performance—both individually and as part of a team.
We emphasize:

Our coaches are dedicated, well-trained, and committed to creating a positive and safe environment for all athletes.
Our Goals
Cheerleading and poms/dance are athletic disciplines that require dedication and physical effort. Our goals include:
- Promoting physical well-being
- Teaching technique and performance skills
- Instilling discipline and focus that benefit athletes on and off the court
All coaches complete the NFHS Concussion Course and have access to additional training opportunities to ensure a safe and enriching experience for every athlete.
Uniforms & Gear
Athletes will receive official uniforms (on loan) for the season. Families can also purchase optional spirit wear during registration. Each participant receives:
· A bow (to keep)
· A uniform (on loan)
· Cheer: Shell (top) & skirt
· Poms: Dress

**Uniforms take 6–8 weeks to arrive**
Deadline: October 24 — Late submissions will result in a refund and ineligibility to participate
Items needed for the season (purchase at your preferred store):
Cheerleading:
· Plain white cheer shoes
· White no-show socks
· Red mock neck cropped liner or turtleneck
· Red bloomers or boy shorts
Poms:
· Nude jazz shoes
· Nude leggings

Season Schedule
LOUYAA Cheer & Poms athletes will perform halftime routines and participate in community spirit activities.
Season Duration: Early December – Mid-March
Practice Schedule
Two evenings per week
· Cheerleading: Mondays & Wednesdays (First practice: December 1)
· Poms: Tuesdays & Thursdays (First practice: December 2)
· Time: Between 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM (varies by squad/age)
· Location: New Market Middle School Cafeteria
Special Events
· Clinic: TBD – Possible training with American Spirit League experts
· Expo Night Performances:
· Cheer: Tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, March 4 at 6 PM at NMMS
· Poms: Tentatively scheduled for Thursday, March 5 at 6 PM at NMMS
· Mount St. Mary’s Men's Halftime Performance: TBD
Game Information
- Game schedule released in December (after basketball schedule is finalized)
- Most games held on Saturdays or Sundays, with occasional weekday games
- Some travel within Frederick County may be required
- Entry fees may apply for guests at Mid-Maryland competitive games (athletes enter free)
Additional Contributions
· Coach’s Gift: $20 per child (Send to @LOUYAA via PayPal by Feb 6)
· Banquet Fee: Approx. $10–15 per person (announced in February)
· Optional Extras:
· Pictures: Team & individual photos by Classic Photography (Date TBD)
· Spirit Wear: Available via the Uniform Order Form (closes Oct 24)
